Random Redondo Beach Trip

July 5th kicked off Seth's weekend, so we decided to call up his mom and see what her plans were. She was down at her beach cottage in Redondo and invited us to come visit. We had to run a quick errand and then we headed down. Sadly it was cold and overcast so we didn't end up going to the beach. Instead we took a walk on the boardwalk and went to dinner at a place called Captain Kidd! Once we got back from dinner Jamie suggested we stay the night and hopefully the sun would be out tomorrow. We decided why not, we don't have plans for Friday and good thing we did because it was a prefect beach day!
Kadance loved making sandcastles and watching all the seagulls trying to sneak up and see what people had to snatch. Once we left the beach we went to have lunch and Kadance just knocked out...missed lunch completely, but we got her something for when she woke up. I think we'll be going down to Redondo more often this summer!

Our Independence Day Adventure

Started off our 4th by getting up around 7am, putting our RED WHITE and BLUE on and heading to Acton to watch the annual 4th of July Parade. This year it was their 50th anniversary, so it was longer then the previous years, according to some people that go every year. Kadance was all fancied up with a red tutu, a tie dyed onesie I made her w/ USA in rhinestones and a sparkly bow that I made. She had a great time watching all the horses, goats, cars and Dancin' in Acton's dancers go by (While they were dancing on by, I told Kadance that Mama did that every year when she was younger, for a good 10 years or so) She really didn't respond LOL, I think she was way to mesmerized by the music and them dancing.
After the parade we took naps and then headed over to my friend since 1st grades parent's house for some 4th BBQing and swimming! Then headed to the Antelope Valley to sit in the desert and watch fireworks that were set off from the AV fairgrounds! Finding a place to park and watch the fireworks was an adventure and then even more of an adventure leaving.... There were so so so so many people out...it was just crazy. I think next year we will go somewhere not so so busy (wishful thinking...I know)

Flower Poof Hairpieces

I have started making flower poof hairpieces with fabric! I know there has been a lot of people out there that make these....so they are really nothing new. I am just happy that I got around to finally finding time to make them. This one is for a friend of mines bridesmaid for her wedding in Mexico. Kadance is modeling it the only way Kadance does =) (by not looking at the camera, lol)

Small Vent Session

This post might be a little of a venting session....sorry in advance.

Lately...well pretty much ever since Kadance was born, I have been feeling like a good amount of friends are really selfish...super self centered and not caring if they vocalise they think they are amazing, know everything about everything and your wrong, they are right. Is this just me or am I just finally realizing that there a lot of people that think they are God's gift?!?!?

It kinda makes me sad and wonder if there are real people out there anymore. Well I shouldn't say anymore, because I do have a small handful of friends that are down to earth and even if they think they are pretty they don't sit and say "Oh yes I know it's cuz I'm beautiful and prettier than you" (not necessarily towards me but to a total stranger) This new awareness I have....kind of bothers me. Plus I don't know what to do about it....when a friend (well someone I considered my friend) starts to act like that I get this blah feeling about them and just kind of want to write them off. But then again I feel like I can't just drop them out of the blue because there will be so many people that love to be in others business and will want to know the whole scoop. (gotta love the gossipers) So, I have just decided to not hang with them as much as I use to, hang with them in groups and talk to them in small doses. Yes I should confront them and say something, but I kinda feel like that's too much energy and I have more important things to worry about then a ''friend'' that thinks they are better than everyone. I use to want to help everyone and had time to do it.....now I just feel like it drains me and I can't concentrate on whats really important, my family. Now am I being selfish?!?!?!......hmmmm....sometimes I feel like I am. =-(

Awww this battle has got to stop and I feel/know I am the only one that is going to be able to stop it!

The Gray Hair

I love watching Today on channel 4 every morning before Kadance wakes. Some days I don't get to watch because I will either sleep in or Kadance will wake up early. Anyways, today on Today Kelly Osborne was on talking about fashion and her co-hosting The Fashion Police. She had a super cute bright orange pencil skirt on with a floral top and my favorite part was her PURPLEY GRAY HAIR!!! I have never really wanted my hair to have gray in it but Kelly kinda sparked my interest. Realistically..... I don't think I have the guts to do that, but it's fun to look at on other people =) I have been all about the Ombre look and yes I know it is fading out as the "in" hair do, just like the style itself, but I still love it!

It's all about the MUD!!!!

On the 15th of April we went to Castaic lower lake to watch the annual mud run! My sister in law Christian and her twin sister Angela ran the coarse. When we first pulled up there were SO many cars and it looked like a total mess.....parking was a nightmare, but Kadance had a great time looking out the window watching the first wave of runners crawl, run and jump! Once we parked we had to walk a good distance to get to the start and finish lines. We meet Seth's older brother Cooper and his kids, Ash and Charley at the finish line. I kept telling Seth that I wanted to do it next year....it looked like so much fun and yes the people at the end were very very very muddy lol!!

Days of Easter Fun!!!

Our Easter celebration started on April 1st at a friends Egg hunt for all the little ones! This was Kadance's first time seein the Easter bunny and was not interested in looking up for any pictures. Before the egg hunt they had all the kids line up on the edge of the grass and counted one two three and then GO....well Kadance really didn't know what this all ment, but when the other kids started running she did and was giggling and smiling from ear to ear! After a few minutes she understood what all the excitement was about and was looking for eggs right and left. (with a little help from Papa and Mama)

The Saturday before Easter April 7th we had Adam and Sam over for tacos, egg dying, egg hunt (just for Kadance) and cake pop making! Kadance had so much fun.....she kept looking at me like, "this is so much fun mama!!!"

On Easter morning Kadance wasn't too happy when I got her up for Church, since she decided it was a great idea to stay up till 12 am with Mama, Papa, Uncle Adam and Sam while we finished the cake pops. After church we had Kadance go look for her Easter basket (I think her favorite was the Nemo bath toy) We then headed down to Malibu to celebrate with fiends and family!
