2011 Labor Day BBQ

Our amazing friends Craig and Tani Bess opened up their home on Sept 3rd for a Labor Day BBQ! Seth, Kadance and I were in charge of bringing corn on the cob and some Grub Rub for the steaks. It was a small gathering of close friends and their little ones. Tani made some gluten free brownies, which were really yummy, it was my first time having anything gluten free. (I didn't try any of the candy at Jennifer's bridal shower a few weeks before) Jacob and Vanessa brought their yummy baked mac n cheese with hot dogs, Gabe and Kat provided the other dessert.....cream puffs!!! I can't remember what everyone else brought =(

While the girls and babies hung out on a blanket in the backyard, Toby (Craig and Tani's Dog) had fun running around the yard and at one point he snagged the kids shoes. It was pretty entertaining watching the guys chase after him, trying to get it back.

It was a very nice and relaxing gathering! Thank you Craig and Tani

1551 Art Show

About two months ago Seth was asked by one of his childhood friends to be in a art showcase at the end of August. Seth started doing stencil work a few years ago on canvas' and one of his first pieces was The Statue of Liberty with a gas mask on. (which was sold) YAY!

Seth thought it would be a good idea to have a wall and start really painting again, since he hasn't done anything for quite a while and it might be a little bit of a distresser. Unfortunately it wasn't a distresser, but on the weekend of the 26th of August there was a great turn out and he could breath.

During the show, Seth's friend and a few others thought it would be a good idea to extend the show to another weekend and bring in more artists and let the existing artist create more pieces. So, on the weekend of Oct 14th there will be another Art Showcase at 1551 Olive Ave in Burbank, CA!

I'm Walking

On August 25th Kadance took her first steps!!!! In the morning her and her little friend Taylor were eating cheerios and Taylor took one away from Kadance. Kadance got upset and without thinking just turned around and took a couple wobbly steps.

Later that night Chelsea Price was over, helping me with decorations for Kadance's first birthday party. Seth had just left to go get dinner for all of us at The Habit. Chelsea and I thought maybe we should try and have her take more steps. Yea the "trying" turned into her trucking around the whole apartment the rest of the night! She has been going going and going! Having so so so much fun!

Good Job Kadance!!!!

Celebrating Jennifer

Jennifer's Bridal Shower Celebration

August 20th 2011 is another fun filled Bridal Shower day celebrating my dear friend Jennifer. Kadance and I drove to Northridge to Jennifer's family members home in the early afternoon. Rachel (Jennifer's sister) ask me to take pictures at the shower, so I brought my camera and was all ready to capture every special moment.

When we first walked in I saw my best friend Stephanie with some of our very old high school friends chatting in front of the dining room table. After all our Hi's Stephanie showed me where to set Kadance's diaper bag and wrote out a name tag for both Kadance and myself.

On our way to the backyard there was an amazing desert table with cupcakes, lollipops, personalised M&M's and gluten free candies. Once we got out to the backyard Kelly spotted Kadance swiped her from my arms and after giving Kadance love she then said hi to me. (I'm very use to being the last to get Hi's since Kadance was born) Since Kelly now has Kadance I started to shoot the food table. Kristina (Jennifer's youngest sister) did all of the amazing food and presentation. It not only tasted amazing but looked absolutely beautiful too! Kristina has her own catering business, www.kristinaskreationsscv.com, that is Kristina's web site!

After about 30 min everyone had gotten there plates, found a seat and started digging in to the yummyness! Kadance and I sat with Stephanie, Amy (who has her own design invitation business), Megan, Sarah, Barbara and after a few Melissa. Once it looked like we all were wrapping up on our lunches, Rachel bounced up and started the "How well do you know Jennifer game". We had I think 15 min to finish the questionnaire and while we were answering the questions, our table kept joking that Kelly and Kim were going to be the winners. Yep a tie and that is exactly what it was a tie between, Kelly and Kim. Our table had is locked down on them before the time even started! Before presents Rachel announced it was Amy's 30th Birthday, Rachel brought out a yummy cake and we all sang Happy Birthday!

Jennifer started to open her gifts while the guests had some dessert! I had to try the Reese's peanut butter cup cupcake, which was so amazing! Jennifer received some really amazing and fun gifts; she wasn't to excited to show off the lingerie to everyone, but I guess I wasn't all the excited to that either during my shower.

Kadance and I said all our goodbyes, got on the road again about 3ish and headed home. We had a car show to go to that my Dad and Mom were at showing my Dad's car in Burbank.

On July 30th 2011 Kelly Nielsen, a grade school friend of mine got married to Evan Warren. Seth and I road down to San Diego with our amazing friends Art and Stephanie Kiesow. This was the first time we left Kadance over night. She was in good hands thought, Granma and Granpa stayed at our place.

We left around 11 am from Burbank and it took us a long 4 hours to get to the hotel in La Jolla. We did stop for gas once and lunch, but the traffic was not on our side.

Once we got all checked to our room, all of us rushed to get ready and called a cab to pick us up. Of course leave it to the 4 of us, we were close to missing the ceremony, just like when we went up to Red Bluff for Kim and Rob's wedding. We got stuck at the next door neighbors gate because our GPS routed us the wrong way. We felt so very bad for missing the ceremony.

But we made it just in time for Kelly and Evan's!

The Ceremony was beautiful over looking the ocean in La Jolla. All the bridesmaids wore short yellow strapless dressed and silver flip flops with bows on the front. The Groomsmen were looking handsome in their white and blue striped suits with polka dot ties. The adorable flower girl had a white leotard with a yellow and white tulle tutu.

Kelly - The Bride had a beautiful long flowing strapless gown on with a feather flower in her hair. She also wore silver flip flops.

Evan - The Groom wore the same suit as his groomsmen with brown shoes

The MC/DJ of the ceremony was done by SOS Entertainment's very own Derek Sage. (He was also the MC/DJ at our wedding)

The reception started right after the ceremony with a very fun unique guest thumb print tree signature and cocktail hour. The bar was fully stocked and had a signature drink "The Mule" that Kelly and Evan would always have at one of there favorite places to hang out. Dinner was served at stations on the patio and then desert was a delouse ice cream bar, Seth tried it; I was too busy dancing with the girls, and fun coffee bar.

Party went on till 11pm! We waited around for a taxi to take us back to the Hotel, but then decided to go to the after party. All 4 of us had one drink at the after party and decided to head back to the hotel. Waited for another taxi, while we were waiting I found $5 in the street!!! Jack Pot =) LOL! I told everyone too bad it wasn't $100. ha ha! wishful thinking.

Congratulations Evan and Kelly Warren!!! We had an amazing time sharing in you special day!

My First Engagement Shoot

One of Seth's grooms men from our wedding is getting married to a girl he went to ELON with. Chelsea is now one of my good friends and am so happy to say I had the honor to shoot their engagement session.

The day started off with Scott and Chelsea meeting me at my place and we took their car to Santa Monica Pier. Once we parked and I had my little assistant, Kadance, strapped in the Bjorn, we made a long trek across the sand to be close to the water. A long trek it was...I worked up a sweat! The first few pictures we took were by the lifeguard stand and then once Chelsea and I talked Scott into putting on the sombrero and all the other Mexico props we brought. We started to do the funny pictures for the Save The Dates!

After shooting at the pier we went up to 3rd St. and had lunch at a Thai place, called Thai Place. We later met up with a good friend of mine, Gena, at a bar/restaurant called South. After having a drink and taking more pictures we headed back up to Burbank. We ended our day at a park where more photos were taken and Seth met us there after he got off work.

All in all my first engagement session was a hit!
