Turning ONE!!!

I can't believe I haven't wrote about Kadance's FIRST Birthday and her party! Well I guess it's better late then never...right =)

One her actual birthday Sept 8th 2011, Auntie Crystal came over and spent the whole day with Kadance and I. We really didn't do all that much.....took a walk and hung out.

On the 10th of Sept., we had a big party at Grandpa and Grandma's house! I made a lot of the decorations with the help a few amazing friends.....Chelsea, Tani, Vanessa, and Crystal! Before everyone started showing up there was a lot to get done. Joey and Sabrina were nice enough to come early and help., as was Scott and Chelsea. Right when you walked in the gates, I had a canvas with a number 1 in glued in the middle of the canvas. Laying on a table next to that as a green and pink paint pen and framed instructions telling the guests to write Kadance a First Birthday blessing/wish! Then next to that were props for the photo booth that was set ups for the guests to take funny pictures. These pictures were later uploaded onto my computer and soon will be printed out and sent to everyone. (sorry to all that haven't gotten them, I am working on getting the Thank you cards out too)

Their were two wooden trees that my dad and I made for decorations. On the trees I had pictures of the last year of Kadance with colorful felt leaves around each. Then I also made some felt owls that I perched in the trees. Those were such a hit that I gave them away to the first guests that asked for them. I do have to admit they were pretty cute =) We also had a bouncy  house, a teeter totter (that my dad made), horse shoes and a kiddie pool.

Kadance had a great time with everyone, didn't really know what tot do with her cake, got over unwrapping presents after the second one and didn't stop going way after the party. I think she was super tired but just thought if she feel asleep she would miss something.....even though everyone had already went home and pretty much everything was cleaned up.

Trick, Treat and A Bunny

This Halloween was an exciting one! Well for me at least! Kadance got dressed up as a bunny and to my surprise decided to keep mom happy by keeping her bunny hat on =). A big group of us met up at Seth's brother, Cooper and Cooper's wife Chris' house. Chris was nice enough to have popped some pizzas in the oven for everyone. All the kids ate their dinner while the adults tossed back some cold ones to get ready for the long hike. =)

We started off around 6:30 ish and Kadance was so excited! It was like she knew and had done this trick or treating thing before. She wanted to just walk.... but her cute legs are too short, all the other kids where running to each house, she was just going to be exhausted in no time and plus it would have taken us till next Halloween to get done. So, against her will I had to carry her between houses.

Kadance had a blast and loved the whole aspect of Trick or Treating! I can't say as she really ever got too scared, but there were a couple of times that she would just stop and not take another step up to the door. That's when Seth or I had to go and get the candy for her. About half way through our extravaganza, Kadance got a little tired so we put her in her stroller. She didn't fall asleep on the way to Mimi's or at Mimi's (Seth did give her a taste of taffy and I let her take a bite of a peanut butter cup at Mimi's) oopppps! Even heading back to Cooper and Chris' she didn't fall asleep....didn't want to miss a things =) But once her little head hit the car seat and we started home, she was out!
I think it was a really fun night and Kadance had a blast!

So, finally a little over a year later, I got around to planning Kadance's baptism!!! Seth, Kadance, Taylor and I met with Sister Elena at St. Robert's in Burbank. We signed up for the baptism class on Friday Oct 28th and the baptism on the 30th.

My dear cousin John Bakken's wife Marie is going to be Kadance's God Mother and Seth's brother Adam is going to be her God Father! Two amazing loving and remarkable remodels for Kadance!

Father John baptised Kadance (who also was the one to marry Seth and I)

Kadance was a little loud in the beginning, but by the third time Father John came around she was watching every step he made!

We are just so excited and blessed to have had her baptised! So, happy that so many family and friends made it out to celebrate in this very special time in her life! Thank you all so so so much you mean so much to our family!

I Now Pronounce You.......

On Saturday Oct 22nd 2011 my longtime friend Jennifer White tied the knot with Andy Harman! Andy and Jen met at our friend Rob and Kim's wedding, they were both in the wedding party!

The ceremony started about 2:00pm at a Catholic Church in Santa Clarita Valley. It was a very nice ceremony, the bridesmaids look beautiful, the gents handsome and Jennifer, the bride, Gorgeous!

After the ceremony, Seth and I headed back to Agua Dulce where the reception was going to be held! We decided to stop at Circle K to get a coffee for me and a five hour energy for Seth (he had to work till 5am that morning, so he was a little tired) We arrived at Jennifer's parent's house around 3:30 and got a fun ride from our car to the house on a golf cart! We were dropped off at the purple carpet that lead up to the were you got your table numbers and the guest book. After signing the guestbook, you turn to your left and saw the amazingly decorated backyard......absolutely gorgeous! The centerpieces were an assortment of glass cylinders with water and candle, brown trees with flowers and candles hanging from the branches and cylinders with water and brown branches floating in the water. There was two bars, one was an assortment of beer and wine, the other was for people who fancied more of the hard stuff and next to that bar was an amazing little cigar lounge area with three different cigars to choose from.  Dinner was catered by Salt Creek in Valencia and they had: pecan salad, beef skewers, chicken skewers, butternut squash ravioli, mashed potatoes and sweet potatoes. Everything was so good and looked amazing!

We made sure to hit up the bar, a number amount of times =) and dance the night away!

It was a beautiful day for a beautiful couple! Thank you Andy and Jennifer for including us in your very special day! XOXO
